Zebediya Village Well Project
The 679 residents of Zebediya Village have no choice but to collect water from a shallow, muddy pond shared with livestock. This small water source is little more than liquid mud, yet it remains the only option for drinking, cooking, and daily use. This area is prone to cholera and other waterborne diseases, presenting severe health risks to the entire community. A properly constructed borehole in Zebediya Village will serve nearly 680 people and provide clean, safe drinking water to replace this dangerous contaminated source, dramatically improving the overall health and well-being of residents.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Luwerezi Village Well Project
Luwerezi Village has a clinic and maternity wing, but no access to clean water. The 870 residents must collect water from shallow, open muddy pits that are nothing more than puddles shared with livestock. This area is prone to cholera and other waterborne diseases, meaning the very place where patients seek medical care and mothers give birth relies on dangerous, contaminated water. A properly constructed borehole in Luwerezi Village will serve over 870 people and provide the clinic and maternity wing with safe water essential for patient care and newborn health, dramatically improving the overall health and well-being of residents.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Msambanyifwa Village Well Project
Msambanyifwa Village has been successfully funded thanks to 14 generous donors! We will have more updates once the construction process and blessing are complete. In Msambanyifwa Village, 875 residents face a life-threatening daily ordeal just to access water. Villagers, including learners and teachers at the primary school, must climb down into a 15-foot (5-meter) deep pit to collect water. Residents descend steep, unstable earthen walls to reach the murky, contaminated water pooled at the bottom. This area is prone to cholera and other waterborne diseases, putting the entire community at constant health risk. Mchilawengo Village Well Project
Mchilawengo Village has been successfully funded by 17 generous donors! We will have more updates once construction process, blessing, and hand-off are completed! Water scarcity in Mchilawengo Village has created one of the most dangerous water access situations we have encountered. The only available water source is 12 foot (4 meter) deep open pit that children and adults must physically climb down into to access water. Residents crouch at the bottom of this steep, unstable earthen pit, scooping muddy water with small cups into buckets and containers. The pit walls are dangerously steep, making the descent and ascent hazardous, especially for children and elderly residents. The water collected from the bottom is visibly contaminated with mud and debris. This area is prone to cholera and other waterborne diseases, putting learners and teachers at the nearby primary school at constant health risk along with the rest of the community.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Phembe Village Well Project
Phembe Village has been successfully funded thanks to a single generous donor! Well drilling was successfully completed on January 9, 2026. We will have more updates once the construction process and blessing are complete. The 758 residents of Phembe Village have no access to safe drinking water. The only water available comes from open muddy pits scattered along the roadside. These shallow, unprotected water sources are little more than muddy holes in the ground where families must kneel to collect cloudy, contaminated water in buckets and containers. The water is visibly dirty and unsafe for drinking. This area is prone to cholera and other waterborne diseases, presenting severe health risks to the entire community. The quality of the images and videos are poor but you can clearly see the difficult situation they face in Phembe village.ÂRegular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Msese Village Well Project
Msese Village has been successfully funded! Well drilling was successfully completed on Dec 23rd. An unusual amount of mud was encountered during drilling so borehole cleaning will commence next week followed by well construction. We will have more updates once the borehole cleaning and construction process are complete. Previously, water scarcity in Msese Village has escalated to a critical and life-threatening level. Residents, including students and staff from the nearby primary school, are forced to walk 1.5 kilometers to fetch water from a shallow, hand-dug well that is shared by both people and livestock. The water obtained from this contaminated source is demonstrably unsafe for drinking and has made the area notorious for cholera outbreaks. This dire situation demands immediate intervention to prevent continued deadly waterborne disease crises affecting the entire community of over 700 people.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Kajombo Village Well Project
Kajombo Village has been successfully completed! With drilling completed on December 22, 2025, the village had access to clean water in time for Christmas Day, the first Christmas that Kajombo Village has ever had fresh, clean water. The formal pump blessing was delayed due to severe flooding in Malawi; Main Road 1, which connects Father Petros' parish to Lilongwe, was cut off at the Mpasazi Bridge in Kasungu District. The blessing ultimately took place on a rainy Monday, January 5, 2026, with Father Petros presiding over the ceremony! Previously, water scarcity in Kajombo Village has reached a critical and dangerous level. Residents are forced to walk 2 kilometers to fetch water from a shallow, hand-dug well that is shared by both people and livestock. This open water source produces murky, contaminated water that poses severe health risks to the entire community. A properly constructed borehole in Kajombo Village will serve more than 550 people, including students and staff at the nearby primary school. This well will provide clean, safe drinking water to replace the current dangerous water source, dramatically improving the overall health and well-being of residentsRegular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Khorwa Village Well Project
The Khorwa Village Well Project has been successfully completed. The project was fully funded on December 2, 2025, and drilling was completed on December 21st. The drilling and concrete pad installation were finished in just three days, an exceptionally fast turnaround for a rural installation. The pump blessing took place on Christmas Day, making this the first Christmas that Khorwa Village has ever had access to fresh, clean water. Because the blessing occurred just four days after drilling, the water may appear slightly cloudy in larger containers—this is completely normal for a new well. The drilling process disturbs fine sediments in the earth, and with regular daily pumping, these particles flush out naturally. Within a few weeks of use, the water will run crystal clear. More than 600 people in Khorwa Village now have access to clean, safe drinking water. A local water committee has been established for maintenance and management of the well. With proper care, it should serve the community for approximately 75 years.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -

The drilling operation achieved a high water yield, ensuring abundant clean water for the community. The concrete pad and pump installation are complete and the well is now operational. More than 700 people in Emvuyane Village now have access to clean, safe drinking water. The official handover of the well to the community occurred during a Catholic Mass. A local water committee will be established for maintenance and management of the well. Chivinya Village Well Project
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a single donor couple, Kathy and Steve B., Chivinya now has a deep, cased borehole and hand pump delivering safe, clear water for drinking, cooking, washing, and basic hygiene. Water was struck and the borehole was drilled, cased, and completed in just one day, which is an unusually fast turnaround for a rural installation. The community no longer depends on open hand-dug holes in the ground, no longer shares water sources with livestock, and no longer has to collect visibly contaminated water for their children. Clean water is available in the village every day, for everyone. A community-led maintenance group has been established to monitor the pump, handle repairs, and ensure that this well remains reliable not just this season, but year after year, with an expected service life of approximately 75 years.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Chizani Village Well Project
This well project was fully funded on September 20th, 2025, and the well was drilled and installed in just a single long day. The drilling operation struck water at just 30 meters and continued to a full 60 meters to ensure a prolonged lifespan. The boring crew also worked into the night to complete the well and insure proper functioning. This is quite remarkable as the entire drilling and pump installation process was completed in just one day. The well is now operational and serving the community.ÂRegular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading... -
Yotamu Village Well Project
The Yotamu Village Well Project is complete. This was our first well project in rural Malawi, Africa. The well was funded, drilled, and installed from end to end in just 14 days. The results exceeded our expectations. With continued care, the well will last for three generations (~75 years)! This well was critical because it helped prove that the system we co-developed with Father Petros is both repeatable and scalable. This partnership allows Water of Mercy to operate with minimal overhead while maximizing the impact of every donation we receive.Regular price $1.00 USDRegular priceUnit price perSale price $1.00 USDGoal: Loading...Raised: Loading...Progress: Loading...
